Tubewell Steel & Engg. Co. is a leading manufacturer and stockist specializing in Alloy Steel Pipes, Tubes, Fittings and Flanges for critical industrial applications.
ASTM A234 chrome-moly 45°, 90° and 180° buttweld elbows in long and short radius for high-temperature steam, boiler and refinery piping.
Tubewell Steel & Engg. Co. manufactures, stocks and supplies alloy steel elbows from Mumbai, India in ASTM A234 WP5, WP9, WP11, WP22 and WP91. Our 45°, 90° and 180° long radius and short radius elbows change pipeline direction smoothly while matching the creep strength and corrosion resistance of the connected A335 pipe.
Direction-changing fittings for high-temperature alloy piping
Alloy steel buttweld elbows are wrought fittings that change the direction of flow by 45°, 90° or 180° in chrome-moly piping systems. Long radius (LR) elbows have a centerline radius of 1.5 times the nominal pipe size and are preferred for lower pressure drop, smoother flow and reduced erosion, while short radius (SR) elbows with a 1D radius are used where space is limited. 180° return bends are commonly used in heater coils and heat exchanger circuits.
Our elbows are hot formed from seamless A335 pipe on mandrel or by hot-press methods, then heat treated as required by ASTM A234 for the selected grade – annealed or normalized and tempered for WP5 to WP22, and normalized and tempered for WP91. Each elbow is checked for wall thickness at the extrados and intrados, ovality and center-to-end dimensions per ASME B16.9, bevelled per ASME B16.25 and supplied with EN 10204 3.1 certificates.
