Product Overview

What makes A335 P11 the go-to grade for moderate-temperature service

ASTM A335 P11 is a seamless ferritic alloy steel pipe containing nominally 1.25% chromium and 0.5% molybdenum. Chromium improves resistance to oxidation and sulphidation, while molybdenum raises creep and rupture strength at temperatures up to about 595°C (1100°F). The grade is supplied in the normalized and tempered or annealed condition, which gives a stable, fine-grained microstructure.

We supply P11 pipes in hot-finished and cold-drawn forms, plain or bevelled ends, with complete traceability from heat number to dispatch. Every lot is backed by mill test certificates per EN 10204 3.1, and third-party inspection (TPI) by agencies such as BV, TÜV, SGS or Lloyd's can be arranged on request.

  • Excellent creep strength up to 595°C
  • Good weldability with proper PWHT
  • Resistant to oxidation & hydrogen attack
  • IBR & NACE compliant supply available
  • Ready stock in common schedules
  • Cut-to-length and custom bevelling

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about A335 P11 pipes

P11 is a 1.25% Cr – 0.5% Mo alloy steel with 0.05–0.15% carbon and 0.50–1.00% silicon. The higher silicon content distinguishes it from P12 and improves oxidation resistance.

P22 contains 1.90–2.60% chromium and 0.87–1.13% molybdenum, giving higher creep strength than P11. P11 is preferred for moderate temperatures where cost and weldability matter more.

Yes. We supply IBR approved A335 P11 pipes with Form III-A along with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates. Third-party inspection can also be arranged.

Typically yes. Pre-heating around 150°C and PWHT in the 680–730°C range are commonly specified by ASME B31.1 / B31.3, depending on wall thickness.
